        Locations

Although primarily based in Essex,  work is undertaken all around London and surrounding areas; Hertfordshire (in Herts on a regular basis), Cambridgeshire, Suffolk etc  International commissions can also be undertaken.

Designs can be commissioned in any style from 'cottage, modern, formal, Japanese to exotic' - the choice is yours.

Why employ a garden designer?

A good designer will translate your ideas into a useable plan, enabling a great looking garden to be created. A plan will ensure you can see exactly where everything will go in your garden and enable you to see how everything will work together, which can help you avoid costly mistakes of putting things in the wrong place. A good design will make sure you get the fullest potential from your outside space.

Small gardens can especially benefit from a good design. A small space can be made to look deceptively bigger using various design methods.

It's important to start the design process early   - good contractors get booked up several months in advance, even during the winter months!

Process

1) The first stage is a site visit; to view the area and discuss ideas. This is a chance to view previously completed projects. There is no obligation to proceed with a design.

2)If you proceed in commissioning a design, a Base plan will be drawn up indicating the layout with features with sketches.

3)You may also decide that Planting plan specifying plants, quantity and location is required to go with the base plan.

4)Once the design phase is completed a list of reliable contractors is given if needed. Plants and materials can also be sourced at discounted prices.

5)Site visits can also be carried out during construction/ planting if required.

All plans are hand drawn, to scale and will often include sketches of parts of the garden to give an idea of the design from certain viewpoints, which can be especially useful if you are not used to reading plans. Suggested materials and features are included on the drawings.

Plans and literature can be presented in large print format, please state if this is required. To view this website in large print, click on view in the toolbar and choose a larger text size.
